The Sidney-Pacific Executive Council has awarded Service Awards to the following individuals in recognition of their exceptional service to the House:


  SPRING 2008
  Name Citation
  Jessica Edmonds For consistent organization of outings of a broad nature, from rock climbing to museum outings, and for the effective organization of an outing committee enlisting participation from the SP community.
  Chonlagarn Iamsumang For consistent and excellent work on maintaining the SP website and implementing new web infrastructure, as well as for all his recent work on the new regalia database.
  Biliana Kaneva For consistent and excellent work on the SP website, and for rapidly taking care of web requests from SP residents and government officers.
  Monica Martinez-Bravo For two years of dedicated service as the sixth floor hall councilor


  FALL 2007

  Hila Hashemi For the successful implementation of the diversity dinner / mentoring program, and three cultural coffee hours.
  Adrienne Li For her dedication and the excellent care of the plants in SP as well as efficient planning and successful organization of outings and workshops.
  Leslie Rogers For enthusiastic and outstanding service as the 2-South Hall Councilor in fostering an increased sense of community through a variety of hall events and for promoting the eating club initiative SP-wide.
  Emily Shen For diligent and outstanding service as the 8th Floor Hall Councilor in fostering an increased sense of community, in particular, for re-animating her hall and being an effective mediator.
  Matthew Walker For excellent execution of the SP newsletter each month, consisting of great articles, photos, and recurring columns. For his dedication to serving the SP community through his position as newsletter chair and also as a volunteer at most other events.
  Daniel Weller For consistent planning and execution of coffee hours and maintenance of coffee cart. in particular, for the idea and execution of the resident desert showcase.

  Name Citation
  Kerwin Johnson For the diligent, consistent, and thorough preparation of brunch for over the past year, including orientation; for effective planning for the orientation brunch including recruiting and assigning volunteers to tasks and managing the preparation in a timely manner.
  James Shing Hin Lee For effectively and efficiently designing posters for most all events during the summer, even while away from campus, and most of all for creating and executing an extremely successful orientation publicity campaign based on the "hello my name is" beavers, all of which were crucial to the success of summer and orientation events.
  Jonathan Lindsey For meticulous planning and organization of SP orientation, particularly the Rock & Roast BBQ; for effective logistical command during the event into managing the volunteers to accommodate the larger than expected crowd.
  Christophe Mandy For installing and reconfiguring several new and old computers, efficient and accurate maintenance of the IT resources, prompt attendance to any computer issues, thereby effectively enhancing the IT resources at SP.
  Benjamin Renkoski For the planning and organization of the Summer Pool Party, a great hit which required significant early preparation, especially for the trial run and prep of the pool; also, for the selection and execution of the successful summer movie screenings.
  Lynne Waldman For thorough command of the SP orientation schedule and budget, particularly the Return to Lythion dance party; for effective implementation of a (previously not attempted) outdoor VJ dance party.


  SPRING 2007
  Name Citation
  HyoJin Chiang For enthusiastic and outstanding service as the 4-North Hall Councilor in fostering an increased sense of community; in particular, for creating a spirit of home with many events that featured "home-cooked" foods and thoughtfulness, including brunches, dinners, and Korean drama nights with delicious desserts. In addition, Rosaria's support of other SP committees and dorm-wide events is very appreciated.
  Nan Gu For committed and outstanding service as the 5-North Hall Councilor in fostering an increased sense of community; In addition to his role as a hall councilor, Nan played a less visible role in thoroughly investigating important dorm-wide issues such as front desk security as well as late night food options for residents, currently works in progress. His persistence and thoroughness is matched only by his appreciation for Sidney Pacific community.
  Wenhao Liu For dedicated service to the web infrastructure, consistently providing a rapid response whenever website problems arose. Also for rewriting the hall councilor application forms, implementing an elaborate key checkout interface to improve security, AJAXifying several web forms, and countless other creative ideas and improvements.
  Tara Sainath For enthusiastic service and dedication to Sidney-Pacific for two years as Chair of the Athletics Committee. Tara has organized a number of successful outings to local sports games as well as been involved in organizing dorm-wide ski trips. During the winter and spring of 2007, Tara organized an S-P getfit community, motivating residents to get involved in the national getfit competition.
  Lynne Salameh For excellent work creating several new poster designs, and for orchestrating a highly successful officer recruitment campaign, the turnout for which greatly exceeded all predictions.


  FALL 2006
  Name Citation
  Mark Baldesarra For revolutionizing SPTV content, adding new features such as Highlight Videos, Public Service Announcements, Behind the Scenes, Explore Boston, and for designing the new SPTV 2.0 look. Also for pioneering two new and very successful SPTV Gameshow events.
  Mihir Mehta For being a major organizer of the successful Casino Royal MIT/Harvard Dance Party, for helping with a number of other social events, and for contributing toward outgoing, positive officer rapport.
  Michelle Sander For organizing several well-attended outing trips and also for taking an active role in planning and running several cultural coffee hours.
  Joseph Thomer For diligent and outstanding service as the 2-South Hall Councilor in fostering an increased sense of community; in particular, for planning out a social events schedule for the entire semester early in the Fall, which continued the tradition of "Dinner Club" as well as began new ones with ice cream socials and breakfasts in the common kitchen. In addition, Joe's support of other SP committees and dorm-wide events is very appreciated.
  Chia-Hung Wu For creative and outstanding service as the 7th Floor Hall Councilor in fostering an increased sense of community, often through thoughtful and original ideas; in particular, for planning community programs such as the "Know where your neighbors are from" map and floor birthday notices as well as implementing new initiatives and activites such as the common kitchen reservation whiteboard and jigsaw puzzle entertainment+snacks during finals time. In addition, Chia's support of other SP committees and dorm-wide events is very appreciated.


  SUMMER 2006
  Name Citation
  Matthew Abel For getting our existing equipment working better than ever and expanding the A/V options available to residents. This included overseeing the installation and setting up the new plasma TVs and planning out the projection and sound systems for the new outdoor movie setup among other things. In addition, for providing support at nearly every event throughout the summer despite being the only member of the A/V committee during this period.
  Jesse Edgerton For his exemplary work in planning and executing an exceptional orientation.
  Wendy Iskenderian For single-handedly spearheading summer publicity by quickly, effectively, and reliably designing and deploying posters, taking charge of the SPinfoCD, making effective use of the large poster printer, and helping out at events, all of which constituted a crucial contribution to the success of our summer and orientation events.
  Natalija Jovanovic For coordinating with adminsitrators and undergrads to turn what was looking to be a disaster for the Northwest shuttle into a schedule expansion. Thanks to Natalija, instead of having no service in the afternoon, we now have double the service in the morning AND service in the afternoon. Also for being active in the committees of the HCA and HSG currently investigating couples and co-ed Housing, an important issue to many members of the S-P community.
  Alison Kremer For her hard work in organizing an extraordinary orientation, filled with an unprecedented number of successful events.
  Swati Mohan For her hard work organizing the S-P Orientation Carnival. This event was very well planned and executed. Swati also helped with numerous other events and has contributed good ideas for streamlining event logistics.


  SPRING 2006

  Jennifer Fang For successfully working with the City of Cambridge for brighter lights on Albany St, organizing a large series of Healthy Eating workshops, leading a 4th of July Boston Pops outing, organizing a hurricane relief dinner, planning Rape-Aggression-Defense training, organizing the Stress Less yoga workshop, bringing the police for a Coffee Hour safety talk, designing magnets with important phone numbers, teaching Bhangra dance lessons, successfully lobbying for the Pacific Kitchen dutch doors, and carrying out S-P publicity for GSC events.
  Amanda Kowalski For exemplary service as the 3-North Hall Councilor in fostering a sense of community, holding regular social events, increasing collaboration between halls, and input towards the hall councilor RSVP system
  Tara Sainath For taking over as sole athletics chair after the former athletics chair moved away, for doing an outstanding job in this role, and for helping with many other aspects of SP life outside her realm of duty.
  Vivienne Sze For exemplary service as Inventory Chair, including revising the Terms of Service and improving the inventory system. In addition, for exceeding the call of duty and organizing social events such as the Dragon Boat racing.

  Jiawen Chen For working for the migration of the S-P web server to the RAID system, for adding new features to the front lobby touch-screen, and for making the S-P web site more efficient by fixing several errors and inconsistencies.
  Jane Kim For exemplary service as the 4-North Hall Councilor in fostering an increased sense of community, regular social events and getting residents involved in hosting these events, and supporting other S-P committees.
  Bernard Mares For installing a new SPTV server which is stable and enables the transmission of audio and video through SPTV, for improving the resolution of SPTV and for adding several new features to it.
  Robert Wang For implementing new features for the S-P web server and the front lobby touch-screen, including the guest registration system and the event management system, for working for the migration of the S-P web server to the RAID system, for his outstanding con

  Matthew Eddy For organizing successfully many social events during the summer.
  Olivier Koch For organizing the Summer Concert Series - finding and playing music, making the orientation T-shirt, taking part in the Activites Fair/BBQ Bash, for being flexible and willing to help even though he didn't housing for the year.
  Curtis Moeckel For providing an excellect A/V support for large summer events, BBQ, Summer Concert Series and orientation socials.
  Lennon Rodgers For organizing Orientation with great success and taking part in the organization of the Summer Olympics and the brunches.

  Waleed Farahat For organizing a successful tax workshop series and consistently taking on a diversity of projects throughout the year.
  John Paul Kurpiewski For organizing well-attended brunches all year long and taking leadership positions in SP intramural sports.
  Panayiotis Lemonidis For being an active hall councilor, consistently organizing social events, and also being an effective mediator in the hall.
  David Oertel For organizing the first ever S-P bikes auction (serving as it's memorable auctioneer), and putting in countless hours of work during the extraordinary challenge of recovering our database system.
  Kyungbum Ryu For organizing a successful tax workshop series
  Nicholas Senske For his outstanding job in organizing the fall Winter Arts Festival and his creative designs for the S-P '05-'06 Officer Application campaign.
  Jonathan Winter For fostering a great sense of community on the 9th floor and always keeping his residents informed about pertinent issues going on in the building.

  Margrét Bjarnadóttir For the tremendous effort of organizing and implementing the first ever comprenhensive Sidney-Pacific Survey and for consistently representing the interests of Sidney-Pacific at the Graduate Student Council.
  Denis Daly For excellent job as a Web vice-chair. Especially, he contributed in picking up various errors and inefficiencies in our system and improved them to be faster and more efficient.
  Apostolos Fertis For his excellent job as a Web chair. He has volunteered to help out S-P events such as brunch. He also put a lot of hours creating a new SPinfoCD and the S-P resident survey.
  Daryush Mehta For completely reviving the Coffee Hour. Also took care of the publicity for Coffee Hour very well. He always seem ready to try out new ideas and are very open to suggestions from other officers and residents. Daryush helps out at other events cleaning up
  Lennon Rodgers For the outstanding work and creativity in organizing new music-related initiatives and events at Sidney-Pacific: acoustic guitar available at front desk, music groups of resident musicians, OpenMic Night, IAP guitar workshops.
  Christopher Zeineh For completely reviving the Coffee Hour. Also took care of the publicity for Coffee Hour very well. He always seem ready to try out new ideas and is very open to suggestions from other officers and residents. Chris and Dayush also work very well together

  Jared Gross For demonstrating dedication to his role as Hall Councilor by taking responsibility for two halls over the summer period. For exemplary service by contributing to events organized by other offices/committees beyond the Hall Councilors' group.
  Adrian KC Lee For the hard work and creativity in putting together a successful orientation program for Sidney-Pacific, and for his involvement in the orientation program organized by the Graduate Student Council.
  Jose Alberto Ortega For the hard work and creativity in putting together a successful orientation program for Sidney-Pacific, and for his involvement in the orientation program organized by the Graduate Student Council.
  David Quinn For exemplary service throughout the summer, setting up the A/V equipment at all S-P summer events and showing dedication in helping other committees and residents.
  Krishnan Sriram For extensive contribution to the Inventory committee, helping upkeep all front desk items and coffee cart.
  Sharma Vikas For exemplary service and outstanding dedication to the Aquarium and Plants committee, helping upkeep these valuable resources, especially being a former officer.
