exemplary graduate and professional student programs, at the National
Conference of the National Association
of Graduate and Professional Students, held on November 5-9, 2003 at
Washington, D.C.

Some excerpts from the citation read at the Awards ceremony:
Sidney-Pacific is a one-of-a-kind residence-based student government in
the whole country which combines resident advocacy, informal
faculty-student interactions and social and community events. Established
only in 2002, it is a significant accomplishment that this government has
reached a level of maturity in dynamic that even established graduate
student associations aspire for. With 700 members in this community run by
over 50 officers, the Sidney-Pacific Graduate Community serves as a model
for many Universities to establish their graduate student associations
along their efforts.
