Upcoming Events

  1. Graduate Summer Picnic: Sunday July 23nd, 4-7pm, Brigg’s Field and Astroturf. Previously known as the “Interdorm Summer Olympics,” Edgerton, Sidney-Pacific, Ashdown, Westgate, Eastgate, and the GSC are proud to present the Graduate Summer Picnic, an afternoon filled with sports, fun, and free-food. In addition to pick-up games of soccer, ultimate frisbee and volleyball, there will be kid-friendly picnic games, water balloons and face painting. We are also excited to present the band Flyswitch, who will be performing live starting at 4:30 pm. There will be abundant free food provided by Sepal. All graduate students welcome.

  2. Photo Safari and Ice Cream: Sunday, July 23rd, 5pm: Meet in the lobby at 5PM to spend about two hours taking pictures in Boston in small groups, then get ice cream. Contact sp-photofile-chair[at]mit[dot]edu.

  3. Shakespeare in the Park: Friday July 28, 7pm. “The Taming of the Shrew” - for free at the Boston Common. Meet in the lobby at 7 for an 8 PM show. First 15 people to RSVP to sp-outing-chair get free transporation. http://s-p.mit.edu/committees.php?comm_name=sp-outing-chair

  4. Westgate Summer Block Party: Saturday, July 29th, 2006 1-4pm Tang Lawn. (In front of W84; Rain Location: Lobdell dining hall in the student center). Food, ice cream, juggling, games, clowns, Tim the Beaver, and games for kids. Contact westgate-social[at]mit[dot]edu.

  5. Six Flags Amusement Park: - Sunday, July 30th, 10am-10pm. Cost with transportation - MIT $20 , guest $25 Cost w/out transportation - MIT $15 , guest $20 Get your tickets at the GSC office. gsc-ac[at]mit[dot]edu

  6. Trip to Foxwoods Casino: Sunday, August 6th, 11am-9pm. Sponsored by GSC Activities and MIT Club of Boston Cost: $18 - Students, $20 Guests Includes transportation, free meal and 3 free $5 kino tickets Sign up online at http://bostonclub.mit.edu/events/060806.html

  7. Rafting Trip at Penabscot River, Maine: Weekend of August 12-13th (Transportation included) Cost - $135 for students, $140 for guests Tents, food (breakfast,lunch,dinner) provided (worth $190+) Get your tickets at the GSC office. gsc-ac[at]mit[dot]edu

  8. White Mountains Camping Trip: August 18-20. Hiking and camping trip in the White Mountains, Friday-Sunday. WE ARE LOOKING FOR DRIVERS!!! Please email sp-outing chair if you are interested in going (even if you aren’t sure yet). PLEASE let me know if you have a car and would be willing to drive!
